| Sarah was tried at Salem on 23 May 1692 and sent to Boston prison where she was kept until 3 Dec. 1692. She had a young child, 22 months old, which she took to prison with her, probably daughter Ruth. According to records, son Joseph was born 12 days after his mother was released from prison. The next daughter which she had after her imprisonment, she called "Deliverance". There is a record of nine pounds allowed to Sarah Bassett as compensation for her imprisonment for witchcraft. |
