| 1789John Goodwin was a petitioner with Miles and Samuel Goodwin in 1752 from Penobscot. Miles and Samuel were apparently those of that name of the third generation and sons of Daniel. Neither of them had a son John so far as I can learn nor can I find a John of their generation except their cousin, John, who married Patience Willoughby and resided in Berwick. Inasmuch as this John was contemporary with Miles and Samuel and was not their brother, there is only one conclusion to be drawn and that is that he was a son of one of their father's brothers, and the only one to whom he could belong as far as our knowledge now goes is to James. |
