| 1752James was a cordwainer, mariner, farmer, and merchant. He served as a soldier in the French and Indian War and performed various patriotic services for the town of Edgecomb during the American Revolution. He served the town in varying capacities from 1777 to 1803. His widow Alice ran a popular tavern at Jewett's Cove on Jeremysquam. | ||||||||||
