From History of Monmouth and Wales[:ITAL]:[:UND] "Enoch Strout settled on the farm on which his grandson, Charles W. Strout lives and built a log cabin on the spot now covered by Mr. Strout's hen house. Four years later it was replaced with a Framed house. Enoch Strout came from Limington, Maine. He was a veteran of the Revolution, and the first commissioned officer of the local military company. |
