| Notes for Richard (Spouse 1) |
| 1493The original Richard Dana whose name appears in the records of Cambridge, Mass about 1640, nine years after the town was settled, and who held in turn the Offices of Constable, Surveyor of Highways, and Juror, was the progenitor of a very long line of descendents. The Richard Dana of 1640 was born somewhere between 1612 and 1620, he is generally thought to be of French descent and to have emigrated to America from England. Richard married Anna Bullard who died says Paige probably July 15, 1711. His death is recorded in Sewells well know diary under the date of April 2, 1720. He fell from a scaffold in his barn. Richard was the father of seven sons and four daughters, his oldest being Jacob and the third a son by name of Benjamin, the names of the others are not given. |
