| Notes for Bloomfield Philip CRANDALL |
| 787Bloomfield Philip Crandall came to California in the early 1850's. Up until then he had lived in New York. His mother died and left the children. His father remarried. Bloomfield did not like his step-mother and he ran away. A Jewish family took him in and raised him. They were very good to him and he always had a great and he always had a great love and respect for them. He worked and took care of himself from the time he was 14 years old and finally met Bridget Gilronen, and Irish Catholic girl., who had not been in the country very long. They soon fell in love and were married in the old St. Patrick's Church. Three children were born to them. Bloomfield and his three children were baptised in St. Patrick's Church and the records are still there. |
