Prominent Mayfair Real Estate Man
C. Fred Hunting, a resident of Mayfair for 32 years, died yesterday after a short illness. The funeral will take place tomorrow, burial being at Rosehill. Mr. Hunting was once the owner of the entire tract of Montrose, now included in Mayfair, but he subdivided much of it. In 1863 he came to Chicago from Somerset, N.Y where he was born in 1850? and entered the employ of Field, Leiter & Co., where he remained until 1874, when he resigned to give attention to his real-estate interests. The Chicago & Northwestern reilway station, at Hunting Ave Mayfair was built by him and presented to the (suburb?) He left a widow and two adopted daughters , the children of a dead brother.
