According to Edna Bollman Pitcher's application to the Daughters of the American Revolution, "Samuel Jackson, whose wife was Lois Woodward, was in the Rev. War. In D.A.R. Lineage Book V22- Page 233 he is given as follows:
Samuel Jackson and Lois Woodward - Samuel Jackson 1737-1801, served in the Company from Newton, where he was born and died. The Registration No is 21640. In V 37, page 284 and No. 36820 he is given as having served as a sergeant in the Lexington Alarm.
In the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors, Samuel Jackson of Newton, Capt. Phineas Cook's Co., which marched on the Alarm April 19, 1775 to the headquarters at Cambridge under command of Capt. Lieut. John Mareau service six days.
In Mass. Soldiers and Sailors Vol. 8, page 686 is service of Samuel Jackson"
Also, "In Jackson's History of Newton Mass, p 467 is as follows: Woodard, Daniel Jr. married Mary Stone 1739 and had Lois born 10-6-1746. Lois married Samuel Jackson 1763. Verified by Nat No. 200417. National Number 205864." |
