| Notes for William HUTCHINSON |
| William Hutchinson was christened 14 August 1586 in Alford, Lincolnshire, England. He married Anne Marbury, the daughter of Reverend Francis and Bridget (Dryden) Marbury, in London on 9 August 1612. They resided in Alford until 1634 when they emigrated to New England, residing first in Boston, Massachusetts. After 1637, when his wife was excommunicated and banished they removed to Newport, Rhode Island. Anne was the "leader" of the Antimonian Controversy and much is written of her in contemporary, as well as colonial history. William died about 1642. His widow moved to Pelham Bay, Long Island, New York and along with other family members was massacred by the Indians in September, 1643. |
