Have also seen her last name as Winchester.
Ann Winchurch was indentured to John Cogswell. She and Duncan Stuart were whipped for fornication by order of the church. This was prior to their marriage. |
| Notes for Duncan (Spouse 1) |
888Duncan Stewart is first found in Essex Co. records when he married Anne Winchurst in Ipswich in 1654. Both were servants of George Hadley. He later became a proprietor in Newbury, and died in Rowley in 1717 at a greatly advanced age, either ~94 or ~100 years old, depending on which DOB you subscribe to.
889Duncan married Anne Winchurst, both then of Ipswich, early in 1654. It says they were both in the service of George Hadley.
Duncan Stewart was a shipwright. He was captured by Cromwell's men at battle of Dunbar 1650 and shipped to the new world as an indentured servant.
