| 773John and his brother, Thomas, were constables and charge by the Massachusetts Bay authorities with ridding the colony of Quakers. He was a selectman for six years in the 1660's and 1670's, as surveyor of highways in 1661 and 1668, and a sergeant ( later lieutenant) of the militia. | ||||||||||||||
