| Notes for George ROBBINS |
George's birth is not recorded in the Chelmsford Vital Records, but he is named in the will of his father. He died at Acton, Massachusetts, 24 July 1747, in his 72nd year, and is buried with his first two wives in the Old Cemetery at "Stow Lower Village"662
George Robbins and John Wood, both of Concord, bought land at Concord in 1701.665
In 1689, young George chose as his guardian John Perham, who had been one of the appraisers of his father's estate.666 John's son, Benoni Perham, later married George's sister Sarah.
In 1722, George was a proprietor of Rutland, Massachusetts.667 In two deeds, dated 20 January 1724/1725, George conveyed lands at Stow and Rutland to his "eldest son" John, of Falmouth "in the County of York [Maine]."668
On 4 May 1741, Thomas Flint of Concord was appointed guardian of Simon Robbins, in his 20th year, and Nehemiah Robbins, in his 17th year, both sons of George Robbins of Stow "and Hannah his wife deceased ... at the desire of Mr. George Robbins of Stow, husbandman, the father of said minors ... Guardianship to relate to the Settlement of their mother's Estate, which descended to her from Nehemiah Hunt."669
In his will dated 12 November 1746, witnessed by John Swift, John Davis, Jr., and Francis Eveleth and proved in 1747, George Robbins appointed his sons Nathan Robbins of Acton and Nehemiah Robbins of Boston as executors. He named also his wife Abigail, son Micah, son Ephraim of Rutland, daughters Elizabeth proctor of Harvard, Mary Rand (or Rann) of Stow, Rebeckah Addams of Acton, and two sons (Joseph and israel) of his son Simon, deceased.666 |
| Notes for Abigail (Spouse 3) |
| Abigail was mentioned in a deed whereby he sold certain lands at Stow, Massachusetts on 6 February 1743/1744, so they were married prior to this date.662 |
