Notes for Jonathan ADAMS
323He came to New London, NH with his parents soon after 1780. After his marriage to Phebe Brocklebank, they settled near his father, probably at the John Ellis place, lot #108, New London, Sullivan, NH. He was one of the singers, chosen by the town in 1788, to assist in the church services. Jonathan and Phebe's first three children, Rebecca, Rapsima, and John, are the first births recorded in the Town of New London's first book of vital statistics. About 1789, the family moved to Tunbridge, VT, where their fourth, fifth, and sixth children were born. These three children are listed in the Vital Records Book for the Town of Tunbridge.
Notes for Phebe (Spouse 1)
323Phebe died in Tunbridge, 27 Feb 1807. There is no burial information listed in the vital records for her. She may be buried without a gravestone in District #1 Cemetery in the Town of Tunbridge ... only District #1 Cemetery was checked.
Notes for Abigail (Spouse 2)
323Jonathan and Abigail named their only child George Weymouth Adams. Jonathan Tenney Adams, sixth child of Jonathan and Phebe (Brocklebank) Adams and a half-brother of George Weymouth Adams, named his first child, the only on born in Vermont, George Weymouth Adams.
