| One of the first settlers of Litchfield. Held many town positions, including grand juror, constable and ensign of train band. He became one of the prominent men of the town, being chosen Assessor for two yrs. from 1727; Grand juror in 1731: constable for two yrs. from 1742: selectman in 1747, 1748 & 1749; & in 1736 was appointed Ensign of the Train Band. In 1754 he conveyed to each of his sons , Nathanial, Thomas, & Charles, a farm of fifty acres, beside leaving considerable estate a his death. | ||||||||||||
