Notes for Dorithy HILDRETH
Dorothy surrendered her dower right in the land.129 This deed establishes Sgt. John as the son of George Robbins, since it mentions his property in the Great Brook area where George had settled in 1667.
Notes for John (Spouse 1)
John stayed on his father's farm and built another house in 1699. In 1743 John deeded one of the buildings to his son Jonas who married Mary Heald.
Conflicting record - some records have stated that he was born on 1 Aug 1673 in Concord, Middlesex, MA.
Note that the John was named in his father's will, but his birth is not recorded in the Vital Records. His mother's death on 24 September 1672 possibly occurred following childbirth.126
Sgt. John Robbins and his family remained on his parents' homestead farm.127 He deeded some buildings and lands 16 September 1743 to his son, Jonas, including "lands by Barrets great Dan in Chelmsford ... near great Brook ... by lands of Joseph Whitney, Peter Proctor, John Swallow ... east of Concord highway ... half George's meadow in Billerica, half Virginia meadow in Billerica ... near great Swamp whose bounds appear in Billerica Town records or by Deeds under my Care ... I am the true sole proper and lawful owner ..." Reference was made to some of the land John had received from the estate of his father, George Robbins.
Sgt. John Robbins in his will, dated 13 March 1753 and proved 25 July 1763, witnessed by Thomas Spaulding, John Barrett, and Daniel Proctor, appointed his son [Ens.] Jonas Robbins as executor.128 He named his wife Dorothy, eldest son John, the children of Elizabeth Fletcher deceased, Eleanor Heald, the children of Lucy Farmer deceased, and Mercy Heald.
