| 92Sarah Tarbell, it would seem, was incorrectly named as Francis' wife for the first time in John D. Ames' article "A Genealogy of the Nurse Family, which was published in Putnam's Monthly Historical Magazine (new series, 1 [1872]:96-102). Regretfully, this error seems to have been perpetuated in later works until the will of John Craggen was discovered. More regretful is the fact that we still see Sarah Tarbell being erroneously named as the wife of Francis Nurse on some of the various internet websites. |
